series: 'in the drawing room'
spanning years of sketching live models, silkscreen images are transferred onto hand built, functional vases.
my work is about women and how they survive through time. I hand build all my work and use several different clay bodies utilizing techniques that result in 'aging' textures. Ceramic print techniques continue this 'antiquity.' many different surface treatments are added throughout the process ~ e.g., torn clay, chunky and crackly slips, glazes and other secrets, further transpiring the work into ancient history... as if buried underground for centuries.

Clara, Camille and Arabella were recently on exhibit at the 2010 Rockford Midwestern, a juried competition at the Rockford Art Museum.
